Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and diminish the difference between them and their peers. The amount awarded varies from school to school depending on how many pupils on the school roll qualify for the funding. Pupil premium funding is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who:

• have been registered as eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years

• are currently eligible for free school meals for reasons other than age

• have been ‘looked after’ by the local authority for 1 day or more

• have a parent or carer in the armed forces

The pupil premium grant was initiated in light of research that shows this group of pupils are more likely to under achieve than any other.

Please see the attachment below for how Wooburn Green Primary School uses the Pupil Premium Funding to ensure all children achieve their very best.
