School Vision and Values

Our School Vision

Our vision is that Wooburn Green Primary School is recognised in the community as a place for great learning, for developing individual character and skills and equipping every child to be an enthusiastic life-long learner.

Wooburn Green Primary School is a place where great learning happens every day. We recognise all children as unique individuals and we help them develop the values, behaviours and attitudes to equip them for successful futures.

As a whole school community, we have high expectations academically and socially and we are determined to develop our children as well-rounded individuals by providing the highest quality daily experience, growing learners for the future.

Our School Vision Statement

At Wooburn Green Primary School we aim to give our children and families the opportunity to GROW by…

  • Growing their brains and using Growth Mindset thinking
  • Realising their full potential, raising overall academic achievement
  • Outstanding opportunities in and out of the classroom
  • Working with all stakeholders including our pupils, parents/carers, Governors and the wider community

Growing Learners For the Future

School Values

We have six school values: kindness, perseverance, community spirit, positivity, respect and compassion.

Our school values are weaved through our school curriculum, ethos and behaviour and help us to create a happy, vibrant and community-based school culture.

We have a values assembly each week to teach the children more about how to show our school values and also to celebrate children who have tried hard to demonstrate one of the values through their behaviour, actions or words.

Below is a picture of our Values Tree - pupils hang their name on the tree if they have displayed one of our six school values. Values Leaves are handed out in a Monday assembly.

British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote and teach British values in school alongside our school values, to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in Great Britain are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
