Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Your teacher is Miss Marks and your Learning Support Assistant is Ms Reid.

Year Two will be taught predominantly by Miss Marks.

P.E lessons will be carried out by our Sports coach, Mr Pearce, on a Friday afternoon, children will also have 1 hour of PE with the class teacher on Wednesday from January. Please make sure children come in wearing school PE kit on PE days.

Forest school will be carried out by Miss Bishop (our Forest School Leader) on Wednesday in the Autumn Term. Children will need to wear appropriate forest school attire for this.

Below our the timetables for both Autumn Term (with Forest School) and the remainder of the year.

Homework

Reading- Children should read at home for at least 10 minutes everyday- including weekends! They will be given a school reading book and depending on the length, may be asked to read it twice before returning. Having a conversation about what the children are reading about is equally as important, so please build in time to do this.

Spellings- Spellings are given out on a Monday and will be tested on Friday. All spellings given will relate to what we are learning in Phonics and learning these will help to reinforce Phonics at home.

Fluency- Maths fluency homework is given on a Friday and is to be handed in on Monday. This is designed to reinforce the foundation knowledge that should become automatic recall.
